Below you will find our “2025 Lenten Questions” we will be centering on during this season of Lent. If you are unfamiliar with Lent, you can find a brief definition of Lent and why we celebrate it here as well. Lastly, each week of Lent we will post a link to our “Weekly Lenten Devotionals” here. You can click on those links and be taken to these devotionals written by our pastor Rev. Kristen Perkins Glover. We hope these questions and devotionals will bless your Lenten journey this year.

What is Lent? (Taken from BBC article on Lent: https://www.bbc.co.uk/newsround/43045086)

“Lent is a period of 40 days during which many Christians remember the events leading up to and including the death of Jesus Christ, whose life and teachings are the foundation of Christianity. The 40-day period is called Lent after an old English word meaning ‘lengthen’.

This is because of the time of year when it happens, as this is when the days start to get longer, as we approach Summer.

It is a time of reflection and of asking for forgiveness, and when Christians prepare to celebrate Jesus’s resurrection at the feast of Easter, which comes at the very end of Lent.”
